Installation material selection for doors and windows

Doors and windows are an indispensable part of the room. So far, doors and windows have gone through four eras: wood, steel, aluminum alloy, and plastic steel doors and windows. Wooden doors and windows are moderately priced, have poor appearance, poor sealing, are afraid of fire and flammable, deform and crack, and are only suitable for low-grade and general places. They have high maintenance costs and short service life. Steel welded doors and windows are low-priced, low-grade, easy to corrode, easy to deform, have high maintenance costs, short service life, and are facing elimination. Aluminum alloy doors and windows have good flame retardancy, luxurious appearance but poor integrity, easy to deform and corrode, and poor thermal insulation, poor heat insulation, and weak sound insulation.

Compared with wooden doors and windows and steel doors and windows, aluminum alloy doors and windows have the following characteristics:

1. Light weight, strong and durable. Aluminum alloy doors and windows are about 50% lighter than steel doors and windows; they are corrosion-resistant and not easy to decay than wooden doors and windows, and their oxidized coloring layer does not fall off, does not fade, and is durable.

2. Good sealing performance. Aluminum alloy doors and windows have high air tightness, better water tightness and sound insulation than wooden doors and windows and steel doors and windows.

3. The color is bright and beautiful. The frame material of aluminum alloy doors and windows can be silver, bronze, dark red and other colors after ammonia coloring treatment, and can be painted with colored patterns. The aluminum alloy doors and windows made of it have beautiful appearance, smooth surface, bright color and firmness, which enhances the decorative effect of indoor and outdoor facades.

The single-layer glass separation plastic steel doors and windows are the fourth generation of doors and windows after wood, steel and aluminum alloy. The insulation, fire resistance, waterproof, anti-corrosion and sound insulation performance are unmatched by wooden windows, steel windows and aluminum alloy doors and windows. Here are some simple methods, such as how to check the installation quality of plastic steel doors and windows.

(I) Check the window surface: the window frame should be clean, flat, smooth, without scratches or bruises on the large surface, and the profile should not be welded or broken.

(II) Check the hardware: the hardware should be complete, correctly positioned, firmly installed, flexible to use, and able to achieve their respective functions.

(III) Check the glass sealing strip: the contact between the sealing strip and the glass and the glass groove should be flat, without curling or slipping.

(IV) Check the sealing quality: when the door and window are half closed, there should be no obvious gap between the sash and the frame, and the sealing strip on the sealing surface should be in a compressed state.

(V) Check the glass: the glass should be flat, firmly installed, and should not be loose. Single-layer glass should not directly contact the profile. The inner and outer surfaces of double-layer glass should be clean. There should be no dust and moisture in the glass interlayer, and the spacer should not be lifted.

(VI) Check the pressure strip: the pressure strip with the sealing strip must be tightly attached to the glass. There should be no obvious gap at the joint between the pressure strip and the profile, and the joint gap should be less than or equal to 1 mm. Push-pull type.

(VII) Check the splicing of the frame: The splicing of the frame should be tightly connected to the window frame and sealed with caulking paste without disturbance. The spacing between the screws should be less than or equal to 600 mm. Both ends of the lining reinforced steel should be firmly fixed to the opening.

(VIII) Check the switch components: flat, sliding or rotating windows should be closed tightly.

(IX) Check the connection between the frame and the wall: The window frame should be horizontal and vertical, with the same height. The spacing between the fixing plates should be less than or equal to 600 mm. The frame and the wall should be firmly connected. The gap should be filled with elastic material and the surface should be sealed with caulking paste without cracks.

(X) Check the drainage hole: The drainage hole should be in the correct position and unobstructed.
